About the Lake

Hickory Lake is located on the Ripple River chain of lakes between Pine Lake and Spirit Lake. It is 211 acres in size, the maximum depth is 32 feet, and the water clarity is over 10 feet.

It is a great fishing lake. It is stocked every two years with walleye by the DNR and northerns, bass, crappies, and sunfish are plentiful.

There is a rest area in the northwest corner of the lake that was established in 1938 that spans the east and west side of trunk highway 169.  This rest area was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2016.  You can read more about this rest area as well as view some historic photos of the area from the link below.
